New Years Eve Make-Up // Half Baked & Charcoal Brown

I have never really been one to celebrate New Years Eve but I do love the fact that you can go all out with the sparkles and glitter and it's allowed (within reason of course!) Often you want to start the New Year looking your best so we tend to go that little extra step to look our best. A lot of time will go into your make-up, hair, nails and of course your outfit. I am going to show you a make-up look which would be very similar to what I would wear if I was doing something exciting but I properly going to do something very casual - if I do anything at all! Any way let's get into this as it's going to be a long one so you might want to get a cuppa tea!

I am going to start with clean moisturised skin, I am then going to use a primer as New Years Night is probably going to be a long one and you'll need your make-up to withstand all the fun! I am using Rimmel - Fix & Perfect Pro Primer - its quite think but I love how it's quite think and really helps your products last and go on easily.

For concealer I am using my trusted Collection - Lasting perfection Concealer on any blemishes and under my eyes as well as on my eyelids as this also makes a great eye-shadow primer. For foundation I am using MAC- Studio Sculpt Foundation, I am using this as it is a full coverage and it makes your skin look as perfect as well my skin could be! For extra coverage on problematic areas like my skin I am going to use a full coverage concealer just so my skin looks clear and flawless. The full coverage concealer I am using is MAC - Studio Finish Concealer.

I am then going to leave my base there and going on to do my eyebrows and my eyes. For eyebrows I am going to start of by using a plain mascara spule and brushing them through so that there neat and so there the shape I want them to be. I am then going to start by lightly filling in my eyebrows with Rimmel - Eyebrow Pencil in 001 Dark Brown - then with an angled brush and MAC - Charcoal Brown Eye shadow I am going to fill my eyebrows so that there are no gaps or sparse areas. To neaten them up and make them stand out I am going to use another angled brush and go around my eyebrows with the same MAC concealer as before ( Studio Finish ) I am then going to use a flat brush and blend it out. I am then going to set my eyebrows so they don't budge with Maybelline - Brow Drama in Dark Brown and this will act like hairspray for your eyebrows!

Moving onto our eyes and I've actually kept them pretty simple. I have already primed my eyes with my collection concealer and I am going to go straight in with Half Baked by Urban Decay this is a gorgeous gold and I'm going to put it all over my lid concentrating the colour in the inner half of my eye. I am then use MAC - Charcoal Brown Eye Shadow in my crease and outer corner for definition. I am then using Maybelline - Eye Studio Gel Liner along my upper lash line and slightly flicking it out but I want it to be very subtle flick. I am of course curling my eyelashes and using Maybelline - Rocket Volume mascara as it gives my lashes volume and holds the curl quite well. This would be the time to apply false lashes which if I where going out I would apply them but in actual fact I was looking after my baby nephew today and he likes to touch your face as it is! Defiantly didn't fancy him pulling lashes off of me! To finish my eyes off I am using Soap & Glory Smoulder Kohl in Cocoa Bean in my water line and charcoal brown on a pointed brush to smudge it out and you can't forget to put mascara on your lower lashes!

To finish by base I am going use my YSL - Touché Éclat under my eyes between my eyebrows/ on the centre of my fore head and on my cupid bow and blend it out with my finger to blend it naturally. I am then going to contour with Benefit - Hoola under my cheek bones, temples, corner of my nose and on my chin as well as on my neck. I am then then going to highlight my cheekbones with Soap & Glory's - Solar Powder and I'm going to use the lighter side. For blush I wanted something bright so that it would pick my skin back up so that my face doesn't look completely flat! I am using MAC - Pinch O'Peaches. I am then going to set everything with Rimmel - Stay Matte Powder if you have oily skin your going to want to powder once you've finished using any liquid/ cream products but since I'm just using the powder to help set my make-up I'm just using a touch at the end.

Now all that's left to do is lips! I am using a bright pink which is MAC - Chatterbox which is an amplified finish so the colour will really pop and the colour will also last well. I am normally just a lipstick girl and rarely go for a gloss but I thought I might as well go all out so I am using MAC - Crème Sheen Glass in Boy Bait which is a natural colour so it will tone they lipstick down but it does make a gorgeous colour and you defiantly don't need much of the gloss!

To finish it all off and set it all into place so that nothing moves all day/night I am going to use a few sprays of MAC - Fix+ which will set it in place and thought-out the day or night if you feel really hot then a few sprays of fix+ will definitely cool you down!

I hope you enjoyed this look! I have to say sorry about the photos I originally did the make-up and photos yesterday (trying to be organised) but it got so dark so early and they photos didn't turn out good enough and so I got up super early this morning and re-did the make-up and then when it started to get bright it then started to down pour and it was again super dark and cloudy! So I hope they photos are good enough but I am a total perfectionist and if something isn't to a certain standard I just won't post it - you don't want to know the amount of post I've scrapped because they weren't good enough! I have problems I know! This is going to be my last post of 2013!!! Can you believe its going to be 2014 in two days - it actually scares me. I will be back on New Years Day with another post which I'm really looking forward to writing!

Happy New Year!
What are you doing this New Years Eve?

December Beauty Haul // Babyliss, Soap & Glory, Rimmel & Maybelline

Today I bringing you a haul, this is a few beauty bits that I've bought over the last month as I've just been buying little bits here and there. I have been very good in the sales and only bought 3 things! Two Soap & Glory sets one for me and one for my pro kit and a deep waver which is half price but only for a few more days which I will explain later. This month it was also my birthday month so I wanted to get a few little make-up goodies so that I could be something special with my make-up. I was going to do a What's on my Face birthday edition but before I could take pictures I had a massive panic attack and cried it all off so I might re-create it if it's something you'd be interested in seeing as it did involve glitter! Anyway let me show you what I've gotten this month...

Babyliss - Boutique Deep Waves

On a boots e-mail a few days ago I seen that they had this deep waver that's normally priced at £49.99 is now only £29.99 and I was going to get a deep waver for the summer months. I went across to boots to look at it and wasn't sure if I really need it but my mum convinced me just to get it since it is at such a great price. I then realised at the tills that I had a £5 off when you spend £25 on electrical appliances, I also had a birthday month double points voucher and 250 points when you spend £25 which means I got a shed load of points on my advantage card and got an extra £5 off a product that was already half price! That's what I call a bargain! I've only used it once as I did only get it yesterday but it seems to be really good and I love the look it gives. I will be sure to do a full review once I've used it more! I believe it is only half price until the 2nd of January so if you want it you better go get it quick! If you want to see the look it gives check back here tomorrow when I'll be posting my New Years Eve Make-Up Look and I'll have my hair waved in the pictures!

Rimmel - Space Dust in Shooting Star, Aurora, Moon Walking & Luna Love

I started with getting two and loved them so much I went back and got two more in different colours. There is only one more colour a dark green which isn't really my thing but I couldn't recommend these any more they last really well and go on easily. They also look great on your nails. They are difficult to get of and you need to leave them to soak in nail polish remover but that's normally what glitter nail polish is like!

Rimmel - Nail Nurse Nail Base & Top Coat & Precious Stones in Ruby Crush

I was in need of a new base coat as my other one had ran out and I refuse to put nail polish one with out a base coat. This one seems to be quite good but I'm not to bothered when it comes to base coats! I got the nail polish for Christmas as it is red and glittery everything I wanted I put it on my nails on the 23rd and by the next again day it had already began to chip! And on Christmas day it was badly chipped in fact half the polish had picked off! Which isn't like Rimmel polishes as there my favourite high street polishes but this was terrible especially since I had a top coat and a base coat on!

Maybelline - The Eraser Eye, The Falsies Mascara, Eye Studio Gel Liner & Baby Lips in Cherry Velvet. Collection - Glam Crystals in fcuk

I'm just going to talk very briefly about some of these products as I am planning on doing a review on a few of them. But I got the 3 Maybelline products on a 3 for 2 offer and then boots are also currently giving away a free Baby Lips with your Maybelline purchase. I love the gel liner it's even better than my Mac fluidline in blacktrack! Also the mascara is great but I love Maybelline Mascaras! I'm not completely sure about the under eye concealer but when I've fully decided on it I'll let you know as the colour selection isn't great and it doesn't have the best coverage! The glitter liner is really good, I've found that there is not much on the market in terms of glitter gel liners! But this is good considering the price and they also have a good colour selection - I've had the sliver one before which is also good.

Soap & Glory - Crazy Sexy Kohl

I got this in the sale for £9 and it was originally £18. When I first seen this I thought I would be great for my pro kit as there are 5 waterproof full size kohl pencils of different colours. I already own a black one and even though I don't wear black pencil liner much now, I know these pencils are really good. I've not tried there eye shadows yet but I've heard good things about them and they seem to be really nice colours. After swatching the colours I decided it was such a good deal I had to go back and get one for my self which is what I did!

I hope you enjoyed this haul, I've been on a spending ban which makes it all the better when you finally do treat yourself to new things! I've been a bit slack on blogging recently which I apologise for but I have some amazing posts planned for the next few weeks including New Years Eve Make-up, Yearly Favourites as well as New Year Resolutions! So make sure you follow my blog on bloglovin or gfc for them to pop into your subscription box! You can also for me on twitter or Instagram (links in sidebar) where I post links to new posts!
Did you get any bargains in the sale?

What I Got for Christmas 2013

I can't quite believe that Christmas has came and gone! It really has just cropped up and flew past with that being said I hope you had a great Christmas Day! I had a pretty quite Christmas which is normally the best and of course it was filled with good food and a few presents. Today I am going to share with you what I got for Christmas, my mum always lets me tell her what I would like and  that way I know I like everything I get. She did however surprise me with a few things which I'll show you later! Let's get into the presents...

Ugg Boots - Classic Medium Boots in Chestnut

I've had these since about the middle of November as my mum gave me them early so that I could use them, uggs are a love hate thing and personally I love them as long as there styled right - e.g leggings and oversized knit jumpers.

Next - Black Suede Western Ankle Boots

I've been on the look out for black ankle boots for over a year to be honest but never found a pair I love but when I have found the odd pair I like it either sells out of my size or they put it in the sale and sells out! I tried in a few stores to get these in my size but they were all totally sold out. My mum surprised me with these and put them in the box for my uggs!

Diamond Necklace

This is a gorgeous Diamond necklace, it is really simple but still elegant. It also has a black diamond but I'm not as in love with that one!

Hollister - Navy Zipped Hoddie

I have to admit I can tend to live in my hoodies especially in the colder months and so a new one is always welcomed!

Hollister - Pink Lightweight Banned Sweatpants

The same goes for sweatpants they're so comfy and as soon as I get home a pair of sweatpants on they're is almost nothing worst than being home and not comfy. I also wore these on Christmas Day and they were so comfy.

Boux Avenue - Pyjamas

These are also very comfy and look great on!

Primark - Care Bears Pyjamas & Fluffy Socks

These are warm and comfy and well you have to have fluffy socks at Christmas time!

Ted Baker - Pink Bow Wash Bag

My mum got this for me at the end of summer as I really wanted it and so she put it away for my Christmas. It is a large wash bag but it's really what I'd put my make-up in for going on holiday but if your a normal person it would be able space but I am a beauty junkie. Also how cute does it look!

MAC - Fix+, Angel Lipstick & Patina Eye-Shadow

These are a few essentials from MAC, Fix+ as I dropped mine and the lid came flying off and the fix+ went all over the floor! I've been looking forward to get this again, it's just so good! Also another Angel Lipstick and patina eye shadow for my palette.

The Body Shop - Vineyard Peach Body Butter, Pink Grapefruit Shower Gel & Refining Bath Lily

A few goodies from The Body Shop, the vineyard peach body butter smells exactly like iced tea which I used to love when I was able to drink it!

Monsters University, Despicable Me 2, We're The Millers

I've already watched all these films and they are absolutely brilliant best films of 2013 hands down!

Demi Lovato - Staying Strong: 365 Days a Year

I can't wait to start this book, there's a page for everyday with quotes, goals and motivation and it sounds amazing. I've had a quick look and I defiantly recommend it.

Filofax - Saffiano Personal Organiser in Bright Purple

I am hoping to have a busy year next year and so I am going to need something that really helps me keep organised and a Filofax is defiantly the way to go. It is quite expensive but you can re-use it every year as you can buy re-fill bits of the calendar! If you'd like to see a post on how I keep my self organised I would be happy to do so.

Sainsburys - Note Books & Organiser

I am going on a pro make-up course next year and can't wait. I need notebooks to jot everything down and these have such a cute pattern on them.

Next - Door Sign

I have been in the process of decorating my room for a few months now doing a bit here and there. At the weekend My room got wallpapered and painted for my birthday. Now all I need to do is get new bedding and curtains which are from next which hopefully I'll get them next month! This sign is really ties my room together.

Candle Holder

This is a candle holder but I think I'm probably going to put make-up bits in it as it has found its self sitting on my vanity.

Hot Chocolate Cup & Chocolate Buttons

I'm always having hot chocolate so my mum gave me this proper hot chocolate cup and you can't have a Christmas without chocolate buttons.

Princess Mug

My mum put little gifts on the table at dinner and everyone got a mug. I got this Princess one which I love as my granddad used to call me his Princess and so it means quite a lot to me!

I hope you all had a great Christmas! And hopefully you all got spoilt rotten! Now we have to wait until next year and it feels so far away but I know it will arrive again in a heart beat - Thanks for Reading!

What did you get for Christmas?

Winter Essential // Beauty Edition

When it comes to winter us beauty junkies like to add even more products to our beauty regime  - if that was even possible! With that being said naturally I have to do a post telling you my Winter essentials, I was going to do one post with all my essentials but I thought that it might be more like a chapter from a book than a blog post so I am going to spit it into Beauty and then next Monday I'll do my fashion essentials. After all this is going to be a long enough post as it is - so I better get start!

The Body Shop - Cranberry Joy Body Butter

I am going to try an contain my love for this item! The smell is so Christmas-y and this is going to sound weird but it smells fizzy. I'm don't eat cranberries but this is just such an apportiate body butter for this time of year. It is really rich and creamy - it feels amazing on your skin on a cold winters day.

First Aid Beauty - Ultra Repair Cream

I recently re-discovered this, I used to use it everyday but then changed my moisturiser to help my acne, but I do need a thicker cream to put on at night as I do have really dry skin as it is and it is especially dry with the cold weather - this also works wonders on sore cracked hands!

Origins - Clear Improvements Mask

I mentioned the next two products in my recent Skin Care Routine post which I'll link here, so I won't go into to much detail as I explained all about them there! Basically this is great for cleaning your skin out and it is great to pick up dull skin in the winter time!

Origins - Drink Up Intensive

Again not going to go into detail like I said above. But if your skin is really dry and tight put this on before you go to bed and when you wake-up your skin will feel baby soft!

Soap & Glory - Scrub of Your Life

I feel like at this time of year skin can feel dull and dry so I like to use a scrub to get all the dead skin off - I like that this isn't really tough and it doesn't feel like its scratching your skin.

Soap & Glory - Heel Genius Foot Cream

Even though you don't see your feet much in the winter time they are generally either in fluffy socks or boots! But I don't like to forget about them they are still painted and this foot cream makes your feet nice and soft.

Macadamia - Healing Oil Treatment

We all know how the cold weather dries up our skin, well it can also dry your hair. My hair really needs trimmed so the ends are already pretty dead looking but this helps to pick them up and generally keeps your hair nice and soft.

Collection - Lasting Perfection Concealer

A good concealer is always essential, it covers all your imperfections and makes your skin look as close to perfect as always.

Benefit - Dandelion Blush

This is a gorgeous light pink, it's very cool looking but it still helps to brighten your skin.

Maybelline - Eye Studio Gel Liner in Black

For the longest time I was stuck in a rut of using liquid liner in the form of a pen. Basically because it was quick, easy and you didn't have to mess around with brushes. With that being said I have been taking more time with my eyeliner and have been loving the look of gel liner.

Maybelline - The Falsies Mascara

Long full looking lashes are always a must no matter what time of year, I've really liked using the falsies recently as it separates my lashes but still gives them length.

Maybelline - Brow Drama in Dark Brown

Recently everyone's been trying to get bold brow. I have never had super thin eyebrows they've always been on the thicker side but I still like them to have a good shape and groomed. This brow gel really is like hairspray for your eyebrows - they're not going to budge all day!

Blistex - Intensive Moisturiser Lip Balm

Our lips get chapped really easly especially when it's cold out. This helps sore lips almost immediately, however don't be afraid how it looks because is you put the slightest bit to much on then it does look like you've bit white toothpaste over your lips!

Maybelline - Baby Lips in Intensive Care, Peach Kiss & Pink Punch

As I mentioned before my lips get chapped really easily, so a lip balm with a tint of colour is perfect for day to day. This means that you can have a nice colour to your lips while still moisturising them. The colours named above are my favourite.

MAC - Angel Lipstick

Normally when it's hotter and brighter we use brighter coloured lip colours and in colder and cooler weather we tend to chose cooler and darker colours for our lips. I would love to pull of a darker lip and own quite a few darker colour - I just don't have the confidence to wear them out and about. So Instead I go for a deeper nude shade which happens to be Angel from MAC, one of my favourite colours from MAC!

I hope you enjoyed this beauty edition and in a few days the fashion edition will be up which will mostly consist of big coats, boots and lots of scarves!

What are your Winter Beauty Essentials?

Counting Till Christmas // Make-Up, Hair & Outfit Ideas for Christmas

For most of us Christmas is a really special time where we spend time with our family and friends some which we may have not seen in a while. With this being said we all want to look our best on Christmas day (or round about that time!) I'm going to share with you what I would wear on Christmas day depending on what I was up to.

Look 1 - Comfy & Casual

Make-Up:

Since the outfit is very simple I wanted my make-up to also be simple and minimal.

Benefit - Porefessional Primer
Collection - Lasting Perfection Concealer
Chanel - Vitalumiere Aqua Foundation
MAC - Pressed Blot Powder
MAC - Mocha Blush
MAC - Charcoal Brown e/s
Maybelline - Brow Drama
Maybelline - The Falsies Mascara
Maybelline - Baby Lips in Peach Kiss

For me this is minimal make-up, no eyeshadow or eyeliner. No bronzer or highlight and I've only used a tinted lip balm! I do however love the look of clear dewy skin, long lashes with a tint of colour on your lips.

Hair:

My hair has been loosely curled with my instyler but I just wrap my hair around the hot barell - I don't close it. This is second day curls which always look nicer as there more relaxed. I have then just left it to do what it wants to!

Outfit:

This is probably more dressy then I'll be I already know what I'm getting for Christmas so I'll probably be wearing my new Hollister jogging bottoms but I'll probably wear this when I go around to my sisters. The festive Elmo t-shirt is from Primark last year but it still looks as good as new since I only wore it about 3 times last year!

Festive T-Shirt - Primark

White Vest Top - Primark

Black Leggings - River Island

Ugg Boots in Chestnut

Look 2 - Casually Smart

Make-Up:

I've added some products to make me look more done up. The products I added to look 1 are...
Benefit - Hoola
Elf - Golden Bronzer
Urban Decay - Foxy, Tease, YDK & Busted
MAC - Embark e/s
Maybelline - Eye Studio Gel Liner in Black
MAC - Angel

I love the look of Bronzer and highlighter it really bumps your look up and gives it a little extra something. I have to say eyeshadow didn't go to plan - Urban Decays Busted just doesn't blend well and just goes really chalky and flakes away so I just used embark from mac to try and correct it. I also used YDK all over my lid and tease as my blending colour - both from the Naked 2 palette. I then lined my upper lash line with Maybelline Gel Liner and did a tiny little wing. For my lips I went with my favourite Angel from MAC.

Hair:

Carrying off from look one all I did with tease my crown, to give my hair some volume. I then pinned back my fringe and  finished it off with some hairspray.

Outfit:

I actually wore this to go out for lunch with some family that I haven't seen in a while. As always I wanted to make an effort but I didn't want to look overdressed. This was perfect and it's also very comfy and smart.

Lace Blouse - H&M

White Vest Top - Primark

Leigh Skinny Jeans - Topshop

Ankle Boots - Aldo

Handbag - Marc by Marc Jacobs

Look 3 - Dressy

Make-up:

Adding from look 1 & 2 all I've done is add some natural false eyelashes and some red lips to add some Christmas-y to the look. I don't really like red lips on myself personally but on others I think it's gorgeous on others.

The Vintage Cosmetic Company - Connie Lashes
Revlon - Colourstay Lip Liner in Red
MAC - Ruby Woo Lipstick

Hair:

There really isn't anything to add I've not changed my from look 2!

Outfit:

If I was going to a Christmas party or for a fancy meal out, this is probably what I'd wear apart from I'd switch the heels out for black heeled ankle boots which I don't currently own! This dress is a very recent addition, I love the cut of the dress it's flattering and lady like.

Dress - Dorothy Perkins

Tights - M&S

Heels - New Look

City Office Handbag - Zara

I hope you enjoyed this, it's not like anything I've ever done before! As you can probably tell I'm not used to taking pictures of my outfits - probably should have cleaned my mirror first as my 11 month nephew likes to stand at them and hit them! If you want to know more about any of the looks then comment below and I'll reply asap.

What are your plans this Christmas?
