♥ Leona Lewis Inspired Glitter Make-Up - Perfect for New Year's Eve ♥

Today I am going to show you a make-up tutorial that I am really excited about! If you watch the x factor in the UK, then you might of seen Leona Lewis preforming and well lets just say see looked stunning! I instantly wanted to re-create it and have finally gotten around to putting my own spin on it. I will have a list at the end of the products that Leona's Make-Up artist Jane Bradley used. This make-up is also perfect for New Years as you'll be making a statement looking amazing going into the new year!

I am going to start with my eyes then after doing the glitter I will move on to my face and then go back to my eyes and then onto my lips... make sense? If it does then well done!

- Urban Decay - Primer Potion, all over my eyelids,

- Mac - Haux all over my eyelids,

- Mac - Sketch in my crease,

- I am using Collection - Glam Crystals in 1 Glitz, all over my eyelids. My tips for doing this is take your time start from the inner corner and work outwards, also you need to do it into many layers and do little bits let it dry and go back over it.

- While the Glitter is drying I started my face, I used Benefit PoreFessional as my base,

- I am now concealing anything I didn't like the look of with Mac Pro Longwear Concealer - this has a very full coverage, which is what I wanted as Leona has perfect skin!

-For foundation I am going to use Rimmel - Match Perfection, I am using this as it gives a nice faces and lasts well on the skin.

- To conceal any darkness under my eyes I am using Maybelline Dream Lumi Highlighting concelar,

- To set everything in place I am going to use Rimmel - Stay Matt pressed powder,

- Now the glitter should be dry were going to go back and darken up the crease with Mac - Sketch,

- Now I am using a gel eyeliner on my upper lash line, I am going to use Mac - Fluidline in Blacktrack,

- I am now curling my eyelashes and applying Benefit's They're Real mascara,

- I am now adding Katy Perry by Eyelure - Oh Honey eyelashes and then adding another coat of mascara to blend my eyelashes,

- I am then using Mac - Sketch on my lower lash line and building it up so that it is quite intense, then adding mascara to my lower eyelashes,

- I am now going to use Benefits - Hoola Bronzer, this is a matt bronzer so is great for contouring which is what I am now going to do. I am also going to take it up to my temples, cheekbones and under my chin. Then using what is left on my brush over the rest of my face,

- For my blush I am going to use Benefit - Sugarbomb, it's not the best for this look but I thought it went well.

- For Highlighting my cheekbones and under my brows I am going to use Benefit - High Beam,

- To fill by brows I am going to start with Rimmel - Eyebrow Pencil in Deep Brown and finish filling them in with Mac -Wedge eyeshadow as Leona has quite defined eyebrows.

- I am going to apply Carmex Lip balm in pink as a base for my lipstick,

- To finish the look I am going to apply Mac - Creme Cup lipstick, this is a cremesheen finish so it gives a bit of shine once applied.

I used what products I had that were the same that Leonas make-up artist used but here is a list of everything she used:

-Armani Foundation,
-Mac Select Cover Up,
-Mac Omega Eyeshadow,
-Mac Espresso Eyeshadow,
-Hustle4 Glitter,
-Mac Fluidline Blacktrack,
-Mac False Lash Mascara,
-Liz Earl Light Reflecting Concealer,
-Mac Impeccable Brow Pencil
-Liz Earl Blossom Cream Blush
-Mac Stone lip Pencil
-Mac Lovelorn Lipstick
-Amazing Shine Lashes

I hope this was helpful and if your going to try and re-create this then let me know in the comments below! Also if you have any requests just leave them in the comments!

♥ Real Techniques - Core Collection Review ♥

Today I am going to do a review on one my favourite brush sets ever! If you know a lot about all things beauty related then you will have defiantly heard of Real Techniques if not then I will quickly give you a little background before I go into the review! Real Techniques was founded by the beautiful and talented Samantha Chapman, Sam and her sister Nic are both professional Make-Up artist and together the made youtube channel and website Pixiwoo - where they show they world the best make-up techniques and tutorials. They are both brilliant to watch and are both so inspiring. Sam made a good quality, reasonably priced and easy to use brush range, that is colour code and has each brush has a name so you know exactly what to use it for. Sam has made an incredible brush range and I can't say any bad thing about any of her brushes that I have tried!

Product

As I do with every review that I do I am going to add a description from the Real Techniques website.

"Create a perfect canvas with this collection of coverage essentials:
  • includes 4 full-size brushes + case:
    • detailer brush: precision cut to effortlessly conceal problem areas; or, use with lipstick for long-lasting shape and definition
    • pointed foundation brush: Use with liquid foundation to build custom coverage
    • buffing brush: ideal for full coverage application of powder and mineral foundation
    • contour brush: delicately applies highlighter to contour or create sheer, soft-focus finish
    • panoramic brush case is a 2-in-1 case + stand
  • look pixel-perfect even in harsh light
  • ultra-plush, synthetic taklon bristles are hand-cut and 100% cruelty-free
  • extended aluminum handles are light and easy to use"
I totally agree with everything in this discription and I think it gives you a true overlook on the brushes.

How it Works?

It depends on what you are doing but I am going to quickly tell you how I like to use each brush and why I like to use them for that reason.

Buffing Brush - I use this for my liquid foundation everyday, It buffs your foundation in perfectly without leaving foundation lines and it also feels amazing on your skin.

Pointed Foundation Brush - I either use this brush or the Real Techniques Deluxe Crease Brush for my under-eye Concealer, this brush is a great shape to get right underneath your lower lash line.

Contour Brush - I also use this everyday with my powder blush, It is the perfect shape to sweep blush on your cheeks and it picks products up well.

Detailer Brush - This is my go to brush when I need to apply lipstick with a brush, the bristles are the perfect length to get precise definition and applies the lipstick easily. Please note mine is stained by red lipstick!

Packaging

The brushes themselves come in a case that can also act as a stand, I personally don't use the case or stand but if I travelled a lot it is a great addition to have!

Price

The brushes are available online and in Boots (Uk). You can buy them here for £21.99.

Overall Opinion

Overall these are some of my favourite brushes of all times, they are so affordable and good quality. They wash up well - I have had mine over six months and none of mine have ever shredded! And for the price that deserves a very big round of applause! If you haven't already got this kit then you need to go and but it now! You also need to try the starter kit which is the best for doing your eyes!

Hope you enjoyed and comment below if you already have the brushes or if your going to go and get them now!

♥ What I took on a Spa Day! ♥

Recently I went on a Spa Day for the first time - first of it was amazing, but before I went I didn't know what to take so I searched on google and there was much to go on. That is what inspired this post - to help anybody out there on what to take to a spa day!

As you are only going for a day it is pointless taking full size products, so I went and got travel size products and anything that I couldn't get in travel size I got an empty travel sized bottle for. Here is the products I bought that were already travel sized:

TRESemme Luxurious Moisture Shampoo and Conditioner, Soap & Glory Hand Food, Ted Baker Butterfly Body Spray, Carex Protect + Plus Hand Gel, Sure Deodorant.

These are the products that I had to transfer to travel sized bottler, the bottles I used were from Sienna and I bought them from asda:

Palmers CoCo Butter, Soap & Glory Clean on Me, Neutragena Visibly Clear Blackhead Eliminating Cleansing Lotion.

Products I took that were in there original full-size packaging due to their small size and applicator:

L'Oreal Gentle Eye Make-Up Remover, L'Oreal Kids Sweet Pear Tangle Tamer, Garnier Dark Spot Correcting Moisturiser, Betnovate Cream.

I put all of these products in this cosmetic case from Accessorises, I also took cotton pads and cotton buds to help take my make-up off.

I also took my make-up as I was unsure where we were going after:

The make-up bag I used to take all of my make-up and brushes I needed was from Ted Baker:

I also took a pair of jogging bottoms and a t-shirt just in case they didn't give you a house coat, I forgot a pair of flip flops but luckily they provided some but they weren't very comfy! I would also recommend taking a swimsuit and if your going to get a massage or facial you will need to take your house coat off and you will defiantly need one if your going to go swimming.

The spa that I went to was quite posh and fancy. I got an intensive facial, which I had never had before and it felt amazing and my skin looks good to! I also got a manicure and a pedicure, I was quite happy by the fact that they used Leighton Denny products as I love there stuff! I got my nails painted a muted bright pink called "All about me" which I thought was a perfect name since it was my birthday. If you have any questions about my spa day feel free to comment below or e-mail me at DreamsWithButterflies@hotmail.co.uk and I would be happy to answer any questions. Hope you enjoyed!

♥ Simple and Natural Make-Up ♥

Today I am going to show you a make up look that is very simple and enhances your features. It is almost like an no make up make up look but with a bit of make up if that makes sense! I think this would be perfect for Christmas day as you look acceptable but not over done and doesn't take long to do!

Face -

First I am going to conceal any blemishes or scars using MAC - Pro Long Wear Concealer, this is a full coverage concealer so it covers everything easily. I am using MAC - Face and Body Foundation as it leaves your skin looking dewy. Under my eyes I am using Maybelline - Dream Lumi Highlighting Concealer which is the perfect dupe for Ysl Touche Eclat. To set my foundation and concealer I am going to use MAC - Blot Powder with a big fluffy brush. I am going to lightly contour and add a bit of depth to my face with Bourjois - Chocolate Bronzer then for blush I am using a light natural blush which is Benefit - Dandelion.

Eyes -

I am going to use my favourite eye primer...Urban Decay - Primer Potion. I am using a light slightly shimmery eyeshadow all over my lids as this will help them look more open - MAC - Naked Lunch Eyeshadow. I am then using a medium matt brown in my crease to define my eyes - MAC - Wedge Eyeshadow. I didn't want a harsh line on my upper lines therefore I am using a deep matt brown eyeshadow along half of my upper lash line - I used an eyeshadow from a Elf - 6 Eyeshadow Essential Palette and on my lower lash line I used MAC - Wedge Eyeshadow. I am using a favourite mascara of mine which I recently did a review on which is MUA - Mega Volume Mascara on both my upper and lower lash line. I am also going to fill my eyebrows in with Elf - Eyebrow Kit.

Lips -

I am going to apply Carmex - Moisture Plus in Pink, then I am using L'Oreal - Rouge Caresse in 101 Tempting Lilac.

This is my last post being a 17 year old! My birthday is on Friday and I am going to be the big 1 8! I a have got a spa day planned with my sister and I will do a post on what I am taking with me and a haul of my birthday presents! I hope you enjoyed and tell me if you would re-create this look! I would also like to apologise for the quality of the pictures I am going to use my birthday money to get a better camera!
